Stuff my dad says

To honor dads this Father's Day, the Journal is going to run a piece called "Stuff My Dad Says." But we need your help. Has your dad ever said something quirky, funny or wise that stuck with you? Or did he have a certain phrase he would always say when you were growing up? If so, e-mail the phrase or piece of advice he said to reporter Earl Horlyk at EHorlyk@siouxcityjournal.com. You may just see your dad's own words in the Journal on Father's Day!

While my childhood was nothing to write home about I feel for you Cal. The memories and obviously emotions are still very real to you and I only hope that maybe somewhere along the way you have found someone in your life that is or has been a father figure to you.
My dad would always say "ya big dummy." But it was the way he said it that you knew he was saying it with love. Not a man of outright affection he showed it in some of the silliest ways.

well this what my husbands says to our kids.
"Please to this, than you dear!" If yoiu dont listen I put yoiu in time out foreever.
